Q: What areas of the SAT or ACT Language exam do you specialize in, and what level of students do you usually work with?

I focus on IELTS training. I work with students of all levels, studying for both General and Academic IELTS.

Q: How do you approach teaching SAT or ACT Language exam strategies, such as time management, test-taking skills, and guessing strategies?

To practice time management, the focus is placed on timed practice. IELTS exam skills are practiced in every session. Guessing strategies are not advised for the IELTS exam.

Q: How do you ensure that your SAT or ACT Language lessons are aligned with the current test format and content?

I am an IELTS tutor.

Q: What is your teaching methodology and how do you structure your SAT or ACT Language lessons to meet the needs of individual students?

The focus is on IELTS preparation. I will hold an initial session to see what the student's level is, so that we can form an individualised plan to achieve success for them.

Q: Can you provide a sample lesson plan for a SAT or ACT Language exam topic or concept?

Q: How do you assess a student's English language proficiency level?

This will be determined in the initial strategy session. The focus will be on the 4 areas on which the students are assessed in the IELTS exam.

Q: What materials do you use for your tutoring sessions?

IELTS exam preparation materials. The materials will differ depending upon if the student is studying for a general IETLS or an academic IELTS exam.

Q: What strategies do you use to help students improve their writing skills?

There will be writing exam practice given for homework. This will be marked and feedback will be given.

Q: How do you teach grammar and vocabulary?

There will be a focus on a specific area of grammar and/or vocabulary that could be examined. The grammar/vocabulary will be presented and practiced in the lesson and there will be homework on those areas, which will then be marked and feedback given.

Q: Do you offer mock exams for students to practice?

Yes. The sessions will include mock IELTS exam practice.

Q: How do you teach students to write a well-structured essay?

The structure needed for a successful IELTS essay will be taught in the sessions. Essays will then be set for homework, with feedback and correction provided.

Q: How do you help students improve their pronunciation and intonation?

There will be a focus on pronunciation and intonation in the sessions as this is one of the areas which is used to determine marks in the speaking exam.

Q: What strategies do you use to help students improve their listening skills?

There will be practice listening exam questions used in the sessions.

Q: How do you motivate students to keep learning and improving their English skills?

My sessions are exam focused and energetic to ensure that students continue to be motivated to succeed.
