Hello, my name is Renée. I am an experienced and passionate Dutch teacher.  I teach absolute beginners to intermediate students, starting from 13 years old and above. What can I help you with? Hi, I am a native speaker of Flemish Dutch with a keen interest in linguistics and languages. This passion has enabled me to gain a thorough understanding of Dutch grammar and effectively teach the language to non-native speakers. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Cultural Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am excited to work with you!

My motivation to teach Dutch/NT2 lessons stems from my own experience, since Dutch is also my second language. Thanks to my ambition and eagerness to learn and integrate in the Netherlands, I have significantly developed my Dutch and overcome my own insecurities. As a result, I can easily empathize with others going through the same and understand where certain mistakes come from, for example, due to literal translations from another language. This helps me to explain things in a more targeted, effective, and tailored way. After all, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education and Child Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Social Legal Services, and have extensive experience in guiding children, (young) adults and college students. In my work, I have supported many people with their studies, language development, and personal growth. As a result, I know well how to provide tailored explanations and how to create a safe, motivating learning environment. I believe that everyone can learn, as long as the explanation aligns with the individual. That is why I don't only look at what you need to learn, but especially at how you learn best. Hello, my name is Nadia. I am a recent International Baccalaureate Diploma graduate located in the Netherlands and I look forward to studying Business and Economics in the future. I am taking a gap year and would love to dedicate some of my time towards tutoring, something I have previously done in school before. My current experience in methods of tutoring is face-to-face, a full classroom, and as an assistant. Currently, I can tutor IBDP students with Business Management HL, Economics SL, and Dutch B SL including IAs for all subjects. I can also help with the content of TOK through discussions, however, I am not familiar with the new assessment method so I cannot help further than that. Furthermore, I can help middle school students with Business, Economics, and Maths. My tutoring service has been complimented for being well organised and prepared for in advance in the needs of the students. I therefore request parents/learners to let me know in advance what topic they would like me to cover during a session, or if I'm helping with homework, what topic(s) the homework is about. This way I can be most efficient with the session time so that learners can make the most of it.
