Hi, I'm Jonathan Cheng, but you can call me JJ. My goal is to equip you with the skillset you need to start getting creative in the tech space. Whether you want to code the next big mobile application, build a dynamic website, create the video game you always dreamed of, or simply learn about the wonders of computers, I want to launch you towards that goal. I have held multiple paid positions in educating people about technology. At Carnegie Mellon, I was a teaching assistant for the School of Computer Science's fundamental class "Principles of Imperative Computation." I have also held a paid position at Dalton Learning Labs, an EduTech startup in Hong Kong, designing a physical computing curriculum for primary schoolers at Diocesan Boys' School. I am a third-year Electrical and Computer Engineering student with a Computer Science minor at Carnegie Mellon University. I have held multiple internships in the tech field, working in web design, web development, project architecture, embedded programming, automated testing, project management, and educational technologies. Most importantly, I am passionate about encouraging more people to code, create, and innovate. Currently, I work for an agile Artificial Intelligence consulting startup. Read less

I will personally walk my student through the development process of a project of their choosing. Some potential projects include a calculator, a chatbot, a token counter for your favorite game, or even a full-featured web-app. Students get to create something original and gain valuable skills along the way.
