I’m Katrina Villarente, and I specialize in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as a private tutor and Special Education Specialist. For the past nine years, I’ve been helping children develop skills in communication, behavior, social interaction, and learning—always with the goal of helping them become more independent and confident in their everyday lives.

I understand that every child is unique. That’s why I don’t follow a “one-size-fits-all” approach. I carefully assess your child’s strengths and needs, then create a personalized program that is both structured and engaging. My sessions focus not only on academics but also on important life skills such as following instructions, expressing needs, managing emotions, and interacting with others.

I use evidence-based strategies from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), including Functional Communication Training (FCT), to help reduce challenging behaviors and replace them with more appropriate ways of communicating. Whether your child is verbal, nonverbal, or using communication tools, I will meet them where they are and guide them step by step.

More than just teaching, I believe in partnering with parents. I will support and guide you with practical strategies that you can use at home, so your child’s progress continues beyond our sessions. I know how challenging and overwhelming this journey can sometimes feel, and I want you to know that you are not alone in this.

My goal is simple: to create a safe, supportive, and motivating environment where your child can learn, grow, and succeed at their own pace. I celebrate every small progress because I know that each step forward truly matters.
