To understand key business concepts, I like to be able to relate and visualize, which helps a lot in order to grasp the concept. Therefore, when I am teaching concepts, I always have fun, real-life case studies and examples that incorporate the idea that I am trying to explain. When students have something they can recall, they can always be able to use it as an example.

When it comes to teaching business ethics and social responsibility, I focus on making it real and reflective. I believe students learn best when they can connect ethical issues to situations they see in the real world. So, I use real-life dilemmas, case studies, and even current events to spark discussion. I encourage students to think critically, ask questions like “What would I do in this situation?” and consider the broader impact of business decisions—not just on profits, but on people and the planet. To help them develop a sense of corporate social responsibility, I highlight how ethical choices can build long-term trust and sustainability. We also look at brands that practice CSR well and those that don’t, so students can see the consequences and value of acting responsibly. My goal is to make them think beyond the bottom line and understand that good ethics is good business.

To help students develop teamwork and leadership skills in Business Studies, I regularly incorporate group presentations into my teaching. Presentations give students a chance to collaborate, delegate tasks, and take ownership of specific roles—whether it's leading the team, handling research, designing visuals, or speaking. I make sure each group rotates roles across different projects so everyone gets the opportunity to lead and support. I also include peer feedback sessions so students learn how to give and receive constructive input, which is an important part of working in teams. Through these activities, they not only build confidence in public speaking but also learn the value of planning, coordination, and communication—skills that are essential in any business environment.

I provide students with opportunities to network and connect with industry professionals and entrepreneurs by leveraging the diverse backgrounds of my colleagues within the university. We organize guest talks, panel discussions, and workshops where these professionals share their real-world experiences and insights. Additionally, I encourage students to attend university networking events and industry meetups, sometimes even facilitating introductions to mentors or entrepreneurs who can offer guidance. By creating these connections, students gain firsthand knowledge of the business world, build valuable contacts, and get inspired by people who have been in their shoes.

To help students prepare for business-related exams and standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, or GMAT, I use a two-step approach. First, I guide them through the course curriculum carefully to make sure they understand all the key concepts and skills they need to master. Then, I provide mock tests that simulate the actual exam experience, helping students get comfortable with the format, timing, and question types. After each mock test, we review the answers together to identify areas for improvement and clarify any doubts. This combination of thorough content review and practical practice helps students build confidence and perform better on exam day.

I help students develop presentation and communication skills in Business by giving them plenty of opportunities to present in class, both individually and in groups. I encourage them to focus not just on the content, but also on how they deliver their message, body language, tone, clarity, and engaging the audience. For feedback, I provide specific, constructive comments that highlight their strengths and offer clear suggestions for improvement. For example, I might praise their confidence or storytelling skills while recommending ways to organize their ideas better or manage nervousness. I also encourage peer feedback so students can learn from each other’s perspectives. This ongoing, balanced feedback helps them grow more confident and effective communicators over time.

For students eager to explore business beyond the classroom, I recommend a variety of extracurricular activities. These include joining business clubs or entrepreneurship societies where they can work on real projects and network with like-minded peers. I also encourage participation in competitions like business case challenges, marketing contests, or startup pitch events, which provide hands-on experience and boost confidence. There are a lot of certifications online these days, they will help students get a strong foundation as an individual who are passionate in business.
