We are very happy with Kenneth's math lessons. He explains concepts clearly and makes sure my child understands before moving on. My son used to struggle with word problems and would often get discouraged, but now he feels more confident and actually enjoys solving them. Kenneth is patient, encouraging, and always prepared. We've seen a clear improvement in both grades and attitude towards math. Highly recommended!

I use a combination of Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) methods, bar modeling, and heuristic strategies to help students understand and solve problems effectively. Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA): I guide students from hands-on learning (using objects or visual aids), to drawing models or diagrams, and finally to solving problems using numbers and symbols. This makes complex concepts easier to grasp, especially for young learners. Bar Model Method: I teach students to break down word problems using bar models—this helps them visualise relationships between quantities and choose the right operations. Step-by-Step Problem Solving: I train students to use structured steps, including identifying key information, planning their approach, and checking their answers—building confidence and accuracy. Personalised Learning: I adapt my teaching to the student’s pace and needs, focusing on weaker areas while reinforcing strengths. Above all, I aim to make learning Math engaging, logical, and stress-free for every student.

Yes, I have over 3 years of experience teaching Singapore Math online, working with both local and international students. I’m comfortable using platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and interactive tools such as Jamboard, Whiteboard.fi, and PDF annotation to make lessons clear and engaging. My preferred method of communication is through the Line Application for lesson scheduling and feedback, and I conduct lessons via Zoom or Google Meet depending on the student's preference. I always ensure lessons are interactive, with regular screen sharing, digital whiteboards, and real-time problem solving to keep students engaged and involved throughout the session.

I focus on building a strong foundation through logical thinking and step-by-step reasoning, helping students gain confidence and mastery in both basic and complex topics. To stay updated with curriculum changes, I regularly review the latest Singapore MOE syllabus, refer to updated PSLE assessment books, and stay connected with teaching communities online. I also adapt my lessons based on school-specific topics and feedback from parents and students.

I believe regular communication with parents is key to a student’s success. I provide brief progress updates after each lesson—highlighting what was covered, the student’s understanding, and any challenges observed. If I notice consistent difficulties in certain areas, I will explain the issue clearly and suggest strategies or extra practice to support the child. I’m always open to feedback and encourage parents to share concerns or goals so we can work as a team.

Yes, I do provide additional resources to support my students outside of lesson time. These include: Practice worksheets tailored to the topics we’ve covered Step-by-step solution guides to help reinforce concepts Links to helpful videos or interactive tools (especially for visual learners) Revision summaries and checklists before exams These resources are customised based on the student's needs and help them gain extra confidence between lessons. I make sure everything is easy to follow and aligned with the Singapore Math curriculum.

My approach to homework is to assign targeted practice that reinforces what we’ve covered in class—just enough to strengthen understanding without overwhelming the student. I focus on quality over quantity, choosing problems that help build confidence and mastery. During the next lesson, I always review the homework together, address mistakes, and guide students through step-by-step corrections. This helps me assess their grasp of the topic and adjust future lessons if needed. If a student struggles, I use visual models (like bar models), real-life examples, or simplified versions of the same problem to make the concept clearer before moving forward.

Initial Observation & Assessment In the first few lessons, I pay close attention to how the student responds to different explanations—whether they learn better through visuals, hands-on practice, verbal instructions, or step-by-step logic. Adapting the Method Once I identify the student's preferred learning style, I adjust my approach accordingly: For visual learners, I use bar models, diagrams, and color-coded steps. For hands-on learners, I integrate games or real-life examples. For auditory learners, I explain concepts clearly and ask questions to reinforce understanding. For logical learners, I focus on patterns, reasoning, and structured problem-solving. Ongoing Feedback I regularly check in with both the student and the parent to see what’s working well, and I’m flexible in adjusting my style to ensure the lessons stay engaging and effective. Ultimately, my goal is to make learning comfortable, personal, and confidence-building for each student.

Yes, I do have experience working with students who have learning difficulties, including ADHD, dyslexia, and slower processing speeds. My approach is always patient, structured, and personalised to ensure every child feels supported and successful. Here’s how I adapt my teaching methods: Simplify instructions – I break down tasks into smaller, manageable steps, and repeat key points when needed. Use multi-sensory techniques – I incorporate visuals, hands-on activities, and verbal explanations to suit different processing styles. Give more time and reassurance – I create a low-pressure environment, offering encouragement and allowing students to learn at their own pace. Stay consistent – I use predictable lesson structures to help reduce anxiety and improve focus. Regular check-ins – I pause frequently to confirm understanding before moving on, and give positive reinforcement to build confidence. I believe every child can learn with the right support and that it’s my job to adjust my teaching, not force the student to fit a single method.
