I hold various TEFL certificates, including the advanced 120-hour course, the 60-hour Online and One-to-One and TEFL Classroom Methodologies. I also have a double Bachelor degree in Geography and Urban Planning at SUNY at Albany. I have been a volunteer tutor for English online for four months, working with a Ukrainian refugee. I have also been a volunteer teacher's assistant for Cantonese, working with ethnic minorities at a nonprofit in Hong Kong. I am enthusiastic about teaching English and Cantonese and facilitating my students' conversational abilities. I design my lessons based on the needs and aims of each student and employ a variety of resources and activities to turn them fascinating and delightful. I have a preference for teaching according to the principles of The Natural Way (developed by Stephen Krashen & Tracy Terrell) which prioritise communicative abilities over rigid language structures. I believe that teachers should strive to teach students using the target language rather than their native language. Additionally, I also embrace the Humanistic Approach and do my utmost to avoid the dehumanising practices it discourages. Read less
