I'm a British native-English speaker and international school teacher with a First Class degree in Mathematics from Oxford and 19 years experience tutoring students ranging from 10-19 years old of all abilities. I've previously taught at the Chinese International School, Hong Kong and United World College, Singapore. Experienced with preparation for IGCSE, IB DP, IB MYP, A-Levels, Middle School, SATs and other university entrance exams including Oxbridge. Extensive experience in tutoring for math competitions.

I am sociable, warm and welcoming, with the ability to put students at ease so that they are able to learn in a positive environment. Being passionate and enthusiastic about Mathematics also helps impart the same to students. My teaching methods are tailored to suit each student in order to achieve the greatest results. I have a proven track record of helping students obtain grades above what they have originally been predicted.

My lessons take place online. With the use of a laptop, tablet and screen sharing software for the tablet, it is like I am sat next to you, but with the convenience of being able to call in at a time and place convenient to you. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However, my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems.
