Hello prospective students, my name is Lana Thomas. I am 31 years old and hold BS degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics. I have also obtained my teaching qualifications for English. Currently, I am working on completing the practical component to obtain my full qualifications for Chemistry and Maths. My hobbies include watching anime, playing games, and reading novels, comics, and mangas. I live in Bangkok, Thailand, where I enjoy exploring the city and reading in nice quiet places. As a teacher, I specialize in English, Maths, and Sciences. My favorite subjects to teach are Chemistry, English for Communication, Speech & Debate, and Writing 101. Chemistry has been my all-time favorite subject since I was 6 years old. My recent chemistry experience was at two different international schools in China, where I taught IGCSE Chemistry and Alberta Chemistry. The other 3 subjects represent the areas I have actively taught the most in Southeast Asia for the past 7 years, working with kids, teens, and adults. My teaching style is strict yet fun and relaxed. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to help students progress from where they currently are to where they want to be. The main subjects I teach at the moment are Maths, English and Biology. I have got over 3 years of experience in private and group tuitions across kindergarten, primary and secondary levels. Hey! My name is Luukas, and I'm an MSc International Economics graduate. I'm originally from Finland, but have lived internationally throughout much of my life, including the past five years in Rotterdam. I've always genuinely enjoyed tutoring, specifically the challenge of breaking down complex concepts into intuitive explanations. Even more importantly, I find fulfillment in learning how to adapt these explanations to different people, as everyone has their own style of learning that can make subjects 'click' for them. Tutoring is simply the art of finding each person's individual style. I definitely had to find my own style of learning during my studies, as the vast majority of topics in economics are technically complex and understanding often does not come naturally. I learned to quickly identify core intuitions and not be discouraged just because a subject would look overwhelmingly complicated at first glance. These are skills I would like to pass on to younger students. I can provide tutoring in any economics subjects, whether macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, etc. - as well as in mathematics and statistics. This can be at any level from high school to master's degree. I continue to live in Rotterdam and can do tutoring sessions both in-person or online, depending on preference.
