My name is Dikchita and I graduated from Sha Tin College ESF in 2017 with the IB curriculum. I then graduated from the University of Essex (in the UK) in 2022 with a degree in financial economics and accounting. I have also just completed my Masters Degree in Business and Finance at the University of Warwick. In the past, I have volunteered in teaching English at a local secondary school to form 4 students for a year. I have had extensive experience working with children as I have been tutoring kids (from K1- Year 13) in English, Maths, Economics, General Studies, Sciences, and arts and craft for 10 years. For English, I support students in creative writing, Trinity exam preparation, oral speaking, phonics, Cambridge Starters/Movers/Flyers (my students have achieved full shields), reading comprehension, storytelling, and more. I also provide tailored worksheets and personalized practice materials to match each student’s learning needs. My fees depend on the level of study and the subjects. I am a British teacher of English language and literature, and I have been working in Hong Kong since 2001. Before that, I taught English in Japan for over 10 years. From 2001 until 2023, I was a senior tutor at AMG Ltd. in Language and Literature for students aged 8-18. At AMG, I taught UKISET, IDAT, ISEB 11+ and 13+, SSAT, (I)GCSE, HKDSE, IB, SAT, NAPLAN, IELTS, LSAT, and many other Australian and Canadian curricula. I successfully prepared students to enter top British private schools, including scholarships for Benenden, Eton, Harrow, Winchester, and Wycombe Abbey, as well as schools and universities in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. Many of my former students are now successful young professionals in business, law, medicine, and many other fields. In my first lessons, I learn what the student enjoys reading and their level of comprehension so I can supply interesting, relevant lessons in which they will learn more vocabulary and how to analyze a text. I also help students develop their creative writing through structured prompts and clear models. For older students, I focus on essay techniques and literary analysis, including how to analyze language and structure in texts. For those students preparing for IELTS, we cover all areas of the examination by looking at past papers and best practices. I also offer interview practice for Hong Kong international schools and schools in the UK and elsewhere. I have extensive experience in preparing students for online as well as face-to-face interviews; my focus is on building up learners’ self-confidence and interpersonal skills so they can present their best selves to any interviewer. Classes are conducted one-on-one in a comfortable office. There is also a great reception area for students to wait in before class if they need a place to do homework.

I hold a Master's Degree in Architecture and I practice the profession, with a base in Kwazulu Natal (Pietermaritzburg) and the Eastern Cape (King William's Town). I am also a certified TEFL teacher with specialties in Business English, Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), and IELTS exam preparation. I am currently learning French and German for the purpose of further studies in the engineering fields.
